FOR….Every Soldier Deserves aDignified Death (An Open LetterTo Pakistan – Be A Man) Dear Pakistan We all have grown up with tales of Mahabharata - the Epic war( I believe you must also have heard the same as we have a historical lineage) where after the war ,Yudhistir is being asked that what to do with the dead bodies to which he replied “They are not dead, they are martyrs and they deserve the utmost respect even in funeral rituals because they sacrificed for their country, their master and its the ethics of war that treat your enemy also as a true soldier” And this may seem to be originof Geneva Convention that establish the standards of international law for the humanitarian treatment of the victims of war So “dearest” neighbour country how can even in dream you could have treated Captain Saurabh Kalia with such brutality and inhumanity – pouring up hot oil in his ears ,plucking up eyes, burning up chest ,Damaging private parts and that too at such a tender age of 22! So dearest country ;First of allyou send your troops who infiltrated into Kargil sector without disclosing their identities ,not accepting bodies of your soldiers! Read the geneva convention ,treat your soldiers with esteem and of course Be a man!! And here is an ailing father fighting for justice for his son and the inhuman treatmant meted out to him be declared a war crime from last 13 years So sign the petition, share ,use social media to spread the world ,make our “dearest”neighb our apologise for it -Maybe it would be a tribute to this brave boy from an ungrateful nation and also for every soldier ( Even the enemy camp ones, because we are not pakistan) who dies an unsung death Sharing here a poem by Venki Vembu from the firstpost “hey didn’t just pluck your eyes out, Capt Saurabh Kalia, They gouged out ours too. Or would we have been blind to your father’s agony, His cry for ‘justice’ for all these years? They didn’t just pierce your eardrums, Capt Kalia, They poured hot oil in ours too. Or would we be deaf to your mother’s fitful sobs And her pitiful cry of anguish? They didn’t just burn your chest, Capt Kalia, They carved out our bleeding hearts too. Or would we, as a nation, have been so heartless As to forget our Kargil war hero? They didn’t just mangle your private parts, Capt Kalia, They castrated an entire nation. Or would we be so impotent that we yearn for aman While they plot yet more jihadicrimes? When they ambushed you in the Kargil heights, Capt Kalia, They waylaid every one of us. But you died so that we may live Our shameless, ungrateful lives. We sent you to war at age 22, Capt Kalia, Which is no viable diable age. And yet, we have failed to honour you The way your father sought. Shame on us – and shame on you, Mother India, That you would send your son to war And yet not collect his martyred ashes Or even shed a silent tear” Captain Saurabh Kalia – We oweour freedom to men like you http:// soldierwifemusin gs.wordpress.co m/2012/11/30/ for-every-soldie r-deserves-a-di gnified-death-a n-open-letter-t o-pakistan-be-a -man/
